Jo Teague – Sleep Consultant

If you have answered yes to any of these questions my personalised sleep plan or attendance at a workshop will provide the information you need to get a good night’s sleep.

Sleep Difficulties

Difficulties with sleep are increasingly common in the modern world. Most people have experienced sleep problems at some stage. For some this is quickly resolved, however for many it becomes long term. Lack of sleep affects all aspects of our lives including our mental well-being, ability to concentrate at work and to cope with our day to day activities.

The need for sleep varies for each individual but on average an adult requires 7-9 hours per night. Over 65’s require 7-8 hours. Most people recognise how much sleep they need in order to function at their best the following day. However what is less well known is how our lifestyle during the day, our evening routines and our sleep habits impact on how we sleep.

How I Can Help

I am passionate about sleep!

Lack of sleep or poor sleep impacts on all aspects of our lives, affecting both our physical and psychological well being. It has been linked to many health conditions such as depression, anxiety, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease.

Lack of sleep makes it harder to cope with day to day tasks both at home and at work.

I run workshops for people to learn about the science of sleep and how by adopting the right routines/behaviours you can quickly improve the quality of your sleep. I show you how by changing your attitudes and perception of sleep you can get the sleep that you need. Above all the workshops are fun, interactive and aimed at getting you thinking for yourself how to improve your sleep.

I run workshops in the Vale of Glamorgan for anyone who is interested to attend. I can set up workshops for a group of people in a location of your choosing either as a group of friends or in a workplace. I give short introductory talks of approximately an hour to interested groups such as voluntary organisations and support groups.

I also work on a one to one basis carrying out a personal assessment of the sleep difficulties you experience and provide a personalised plan to gently encourage you back to a good night’s sleep.

Please note that I do not diagnose sleep disorders. My advice does not replace that of your medical practitioner. More complex sleep disorders will require onward referral.
